An American tourist in Bahrain described a terrifying drone strike on his building as the Iran conflict escalates, leaving thousands of citizens stranded abroad.

The fire began in Bahrain’s Muharraq Island, which is home to Bahrain International Airport. Bahrain’s Interior Ministry describes it as a blaze affecting oil tanks in the area. The airport has jet fuel tanks, while there’s also other tanks in the area for the kingdom’s oil industry.

Bahrain has accused Iran of striking a desalination plant as the regional war expands with no end in sight. Israel reports that two of its soldiers have been killed, its first military deaths of the war.
